Is this dress too much for a school dance?

i really like it actually... its wintery! haha a suggestion though, if you want to tone it down, wear black tights under and instead of boots try wearing closed toe black flats (or heels if you like) but personally i think that boots are too casual for a dress, and boots like that would probably loook better if you paired them with jeans and a cute top!
