Relationship problems tell me whats wrong!?

ok so idk what to call him he lives in SD and i live by Chicago and he has bein talking to me for like 2 years now and i like him a super bunch he says he loves me and that im beautiful and he likes me we act like were dating whenever we talk but then he ignores me for weeks maybe months at a time and it makes me dapressed and i want to cry all the time i like him so much i just wnat to know what is going on wth him!!!!
