Question about liability as a college student?

Hi I am a college student going to a private university and my parents are paying for most of it. That being said, I dont really have any money personally. However, I am 19 years old. I was wondering if, hypothetically, I were to do something "bad" that causes damages... eg steal someone's computer... could the victim sue my parents for the damages? Or would they have to sue me? What If i had no money? Im just asking this out of curiousity... and im only dealing with the civil aspect , not criminal. Thanks!
