Does he like me or not?! Please answer?

When I am in homeroom at school this boy I think is cute keeps staring at me. When I look at him he turns away. Does he like me? We never really talk but I have him for history too. I really don't pay attention if he stares at me in history. I have a dance coming up should I have a friend ask him who he likes or should I wait?
